While today marks a new beginning for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, this morning also marks the end of the 2018 Winter Olympics, which ran for two weeks in mid-February, followed by three months of complete inactivity, and finally culminated this morning in royal matrimony inside St. George’s Chapel. The send-off for the newest royal couple and the conclusion of the 23rd Winter Olympics was appropriately grand, with the Kensington newlyweds walking hand in hand down the steps of Windsor Castle surrounded by two ice-dancing judges and an alternate for the Slovenian luge team in a beautiful gesture of sportsmanship, unity, and joy for Prince Harry and Princess Meghan tying the knot. We won’t soon forget the amazing heroics of Chloe Kim and the U.S. women’s hockey team, but the magical ceremony of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in England is quite a way to officially end the festivities in Pyeongchang.
