Huge Bummer: By The Time This Woman Finally Found Her Missing Son, She’d Already Gotten A New One

If you like reading things that make you smile then you should hide your phone under a pile of leaves, because this story’s a serious buzzkill that’s guaranteed to leave you disappointed and frustrated: By the time this woman finally found her missing son, she’d already gotten a new one.

What a massive bummer. This poor woman has got to be wondering what she did to have such rotten luck.

When Sarah Lavarie’s eight-year-old son Kyle vanished late last year, she was completely devastated. She looked all over the neighborhood for him, she put up posters with Kyle’s face at the Whole Foods near her house, and she even called the police. After months of searching, authorities finally discovered that Kyle had been abducted by his father, Sarah’s ex-husband, who had taken the boy to live with him in England. Tragically, by the time Kyle was finally found it was too late: Sarah had gotten a new son.

“Kyle was a great son to have, but I can’t take him back because now I have my replacement son, Stavros,” Sarah says, adding that the whole ordeal has been an “emotional and logistical nightmare.” “I only have the one bedroom for a son, and Stavros lives in it now, so there’s space for my old son. Plus, it’s very expensive to look after a child. It’s just not practical to start spending twice as much on sons.”

Sarah says that if she had known police were going to find Kyle, she would have waited a little longer before getting a new son, but now that she had the new son, the old son was “basically worthless.”

Absolutely heartbreaking. It’s amazing that Sarah has managed to hold herself together during such a difficult time.

“There’s some stuff I like about my old son for sure,” Sarah added. “He was quieter than my new son and he didn’t get ear infections as often. My new son is constantly getting ear infections. I looked into replacing him with a third son that didn’t get sick as much, but I couldn’t really find anything better.”

What a massive downer. It sucks when something so aggravating happens to a decent and kindhearted person like Sarah. Here’s hoping she’s able to put her life back together and move forward with her replacement son. And next time her kid goes missing, hopefully the police can get their act together and find him before Sarah is forced to get a new one!
